A Joint Meeting of all the Lodges in Chennai, Puducherry & Chittoor was held on Thursday, the 24th February, 2011 at Freemasons Hall Chennai. The Lodge was opened at 5.00 p.m. by Protem Master W.Bro. Dr.R. Chandrasekhar, W.M. – 164 and his team of Protem Officers and was then called off.
At 5.30p.m. there was Meeting of the Masters and Secretaries of all the Lodges with R.W. the Regional Grand Master. There was good interaction at the Meeting.
At 6.00p.m. Lodge Vidya No. 164 organised a Charity Project to mark the occasion in which M.W. Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M., M.W.the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India in the presence of R.W.Bro. R.Sushilraj, R.W. The Regional Grand Master, donated Stretchers to the Officials from Southern Railways.
At 6.15p.m Open Session of the Joint Meeting with Brethren and Non – Masons, which included Mrs. R.. Sushilraj, family members of recipients of L.T.S. Jewels and Officials from Southern Railways, was convened. Total Attendance was above 200.
R.W.Bro. Retnaraj Sushilraj, R.W. The Regional Grand Master of The Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India and his Deputation was received in due form and greeted.
Then M.W.Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M., M.W.the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India and his Deputation was received in due form and greeted.
V.W.Bro. K.V. Krishna Prasad, the A.R.G.M, welcomed all assembled in this unique Joint Meeting.
Then M.W.Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M., M.W.the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India presented Long Term Service Jewels to the following distinguished Brethren :

R.W.Bro. Ramesh Jagtiani, W.Bro. D. Kumar and R.W.Bro.S. Ramasubramaniam felicitated the Recipients of the L.T.S. Jewels.
V.W.Bro. E.V.Kuppuswami , W.Bro. Capt. J.Lakshminarayananan, W. Bro. N. Ramkumar, W.Bro. N.R. Chandran, and V.W.Bro. T.R. Mohanakrishnan responded on behalf of the Recipients of the L.T.S. Jewels and conveyed their gratitude and thanked one and all.
Then V.W.Bro. P.S.Pandyan first felicitated R.W.Bro.Retnaraj Sushilraj R.W. the Regional Grand Master. He recalled his association with him in Lodge Vivekananda from 1987. He highlighted his sterling qualities and enumerated the various achievements of R.W.Bro.R.Sushilraj during his Masonic Career. He finally invoked the blessings of the Great Architect of the Universe to bestow him with wisdom and ability that he may guide the Region to greater heights.
V.W.Bro. V.G.Madhusudhan then offered his felicitations to R.W.Bro.R.Sushilraj R.W. the Regional Grand Master. He outlined the grand manner in which he performed as the Regional Grand D of C and later as the Grand D of C. He also highlighted the excellent work done by him in the Tsunami Charity Project at Pallam Village.
R.W.Bro. Retnaraj Sushilkumar, R.W. The Regional Grand Master responded by thanking . V.W.Bro.P.S.Pandyan and V.W.Bro. V G Madhusudhan for their kind words of felicitation. He also congratulated the Recipients of LTS Jewels and wished them well.
Then M.W.Bro.Capt.Dr. Balaram Biswakumar O.S.M. , M.W. The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India addressed the gathering. He explained the unique nature and purpose of Long Term Services Jewels and congratulated the Recipients of L.T.S. Jewels. He also congratulated R.W. Bro. R. Sushilraj, R.W. the Regional Grand Master and wished him a successful tenure of Office.
V.W. Bro. K.V. Krishnaprasad A.R.G.M. presented a memento to M.W. Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar O.S.M., M.W. the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India.
W.Bro. S.Thirugnanamurthy A.R.G.M. presented a memento to R.W. Bro. Retnaraj Sushilraj, R.W. The Regional Grand Master.
W. Bro. Dr. G.V. Ramakrishna Rao , A.R.G.M. gave vote of thanks to one and all.
At this stage the open session ended and the ladies and non-masons retired from the Lodge.
The Lodge was then called on and duly closed after salutations, Charity collections and retirement of the two Deputations in due form. Charity Collections amounting to Rs.8,210/- was donated to RGL of SI Charitable Trust.
