Report for the Months of February and March 2011

Represented the RGM, on the installation night of Lodge Murray Hammik,
No. 90, GLI on 27 /2/2011.
Good attendence.Apart from Chitoor, Bretheren from Bangalore KGF and
Salem participated.
Good ceremony.

Lodge Shanthi, No. 146, GLI,
Surprise visit on 11/03/2011.
2nd degree working-good attendence. The IPM did the ceremony. Charges
given by different bretheren.Good ceremony.

LodgeG.K. Selvarajan, 365,
Surprise visit on 25/03/2011.2nd and 1st degree ceremonies done. Ten members only present. Not yet submitted the returns, inspite of reminders.

JOINT MEETING OF 23 LODGES IN CHENNAI, PUDUCHERRY & CHITTOOR TO FELICITATE R.W.BRO. RETNARAJ SUSHILRAJ, R.W.THE REGIONAL GRAND MASTER OF THE REGIONAL GRAND LODGE OF SOUTHERN INDIA.

A Joint Meeting of all the Lodges in Chennai, Puducherry & Chittoor was held on Thursday, the 24th February, 2011 at Freemasons Hall Chennai. The Lodge was opened at 5.00 p.m. by Protem Master W.Bro. Dr.R. Chandrasekhar, W.M. – 164 and his team of Protem Officers and was then called off.

At 5.30p.m. there was Meeting of the Masters and Secretaries of all the Lodges with R.W. the Regional Grand Master. There was good interaction at the Meeting.

At 6.00p.m. Lodge Vidya No. 164 organised a Charity Project to mark the occasion in which M.W. Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M., M.W.the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India in the presence of R.W.Bro. R.Sushilraj, R.W. The Regional Grand Master, donated Stretchers to the Officials from Southern Railways.

At 6.15p.m Open Session of the Joint Meeting with Brethren and Non – Masons, which included Mrs. R.. Sushilraj, family members of recipients of L.T.S. Jewels and Officials from Southern Railways, was convened. Total Attendance was above 200.

R.W.Bro. Retnaraj Sushilraj, R.W. The Regional Grand Master of The Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India and his Deputation was received in due form and greeted.

Then M.W.Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M., M.W.the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India and his Deputation was received in due form and greeted.

V.W.Bro. K.V. Krishna Prasad, the A.R.G.M, welcomed all assembled in this unique Joint Meeting.

Then M.W.Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar, O.S.M., M.W.the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India presented Long Term Service Jewels to the following distinguished Brethren :

R.W.Bro. Ramesh Jagtiani, W.Bro. D. Kumar and R.W.Bro.S. Ramasubramaniam felicitated the Recipients of the L.T.S. Jewels.

V.W.Bro. E.V.Kuppuswami , W.Bro. Capt. J.Lakshminarayananan, W. Bro. N. Ramkumar, W.Bro. N.R. Chandran, and V.W.Bro. T.R. Mohanakrishnan responded on behalf of the Recipients of the L.T.S. Jewels and conveyed their gratitude and thanked one and all.

Then V.W.Bro. P.S.Pandyan first felicitated R.W.Bro.Retnaraj Sushilraj R.W. the Regional Grand Master. He recalled his association with him in Lodge Vivekananda from 1987. He highlighted his sterling qualities and enumerated the various achievements of R.W.Bro.R.Sushilraj during his Masonic Career. He finally invoked the blessings of the Great Architect of the Universe to bestow him with wisdom and ability that he may guide the Region to greater heights.

V.W.Bro. V.G.Madhusudhan then offered his felicitations to R.W.Bro.R.Sushilraj R.W. the Regional Grand Master. He outlined the grand manner in which he performed as the Regional Grand D of C and later as the Grand D of C. He also highlighted the excellent work done by him in the Tsunami Charity Project at Pallam Village.

R.W.Bro. Retnaraj Sushilkumar, R.W. The Regional Grand Master responded by thanking . V.W.Bro.P.S.Pandyan and V.W.Bro. V G Madhusudhan for their kind words of felicitation. He also congratulated the Recipients of LTS Jewels and wished them well.

Then M.W.Bro.Capt.Dr. Balaram Biswakumar O.S.M. , M.W. The Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India addressed the gathering. He explained the unique nature and purpose of Long Term Services Jewels and congratulated the Recipients of L.T.S. Jewels. He also congratulated R.W. Bro. R. Sushilraj, R.W. the Regional Grand Master and wished him a successful tenure of Office.

V.W. Bro. K.V. Krishnaprasad A.R.G.M. presented a memento to M.W. Bro. Capt. Dr. Balaram Biswakumar O.S.M., M.W. the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India.

W.Bro. S.Thirugnanamurthy A.R.G.M. presented a memento to R.W. Bro. Retnaraj Sushilraj, R.W. The Regional Grand Master.

W. Bro. Dr. G.V. Ramakrishna Rao , A.R.G.M. proposed vote of thanks to one and all.
At this stage the open session ended and the ladies and non-masons retired from the Lodge.

The Lodge was then called on and duly closed after salutations, Charity collections and retirement of the two Deputations in due form. Charity Collections amounting to Rs.8,210/- was donated to RGL of SI Charitable Trust.

Attented Madras Masters Lodge No.103 on sunday 5th june 2011 at 10 am freemasons hall chennai. the workshop of SD JD, IG & Tyler demonstration. 30 broethren attened. well received and a good demonstration followed by Fellowship and lunch.

As promised i had the privilege of distributing the school uniforms, bags,water bottles and shoes to 50 children in balagurulam on
19.06.2011 sunday. this instution consistis of children from 1 1/2 yrs to 12 yrs who have been abandoned by the parents. A couple takes care of the children they are very will behaved and organised. The Millineum Lodge looks after most of their needs.

RGL of SI Charity Trust,
Under vocational training programme imparted computer training, web
designing,and other relevent computer programmes to twelve women
trainees. The completion certificates were handed over by RW Bro. R.
Sushil Raj,RGM o SI.on

Lodge Vidya, No:164,
An amount of Rs. 25,347.was donated towards school fees for twelve
students of St. Joseph Higher secondary school,Kovalam Chennai.It was
handed over by RW ushil Raj, RGM of SI on 24th june 2011, on UB day.

Universal Brotherhood Day 2011 was celebrated in a grand manner.

Mr V.Sriram,a reknowed historian and heritage researcher was the chief guest .

He gave a thorough explanation of all the early free masonary in Madras and the
Bretheran associated with it.

His speech lasted for forty five min which was well researched and intersting.

About seventy Bretheran attended the meeting.

Both the RWBRO.Sushilraj and RWBRO.Ravindranath Menon,the DGM of Madras
gave their views about the Fetherhood of God and the Brotherhood of man.

VWBRO.K.V.Krishna Prasad introduced the speaker.

WBRO.Dr.GVR.welcomed the gathering.

WBRO.Thiru proposed the vote of thanks.

was given by R.W. Bro. R. Sushilraj R.W. The. RGM of SI. on wednesday 6th July 2011 at 6.30 pm at the FM
Hall, Chennai. The meeting was attended by 50 Masons and 30 Ladies.
The RGMsaid with these open meetings the wives need not be apprehensive what their husbands do in a masonic meeting. Free
masonary makes a man disciplined and charitable.

M.W.the Grand Master M.W.Bro.Capt.Dr.Balaram Biswakumar OSM presented 50 yrs LTS jewel to R.W.Bro.P.C.M.Somasundaram.on 18th september 2011 at the latters residence in chennai which was preceeded by a
lunch.Bretheren of lodge SHANTHI No.146 and Bretheren of lodge ASHOKA No.93.and other Bretheren including THE GRAND SECRETARY and the ARGMs attended the function.

Bro. J.Patrick Dhanyan Ryan was Installed as Worshipful Master for theyear2011-2012 in the august presence of R.W.Bro.Retna Raj Sushil Raj RW the RGM of the RGL of SI on wednesday 14 september 2011 at
5.30pm at FM Hall Chennai 600008.

The Address to the Master was given by The RGM, The Address to the Wardens by W. Bro.Dr.G.V.Ramakrishna Rao ARGM and the Address to the Brethren was given by W.Bro. N.S.Sivan.
