    CRAFT MARK

Most Ex. Companion Justice Devinder Gupta , M.Ex. The First Grand Principal of The Supreme grand chapter of India, M.Ex. The Grand Superintendents of the Regional Grand chapters of Western, Northern and Eastern India, M.E. Companions, Ex. Companions, and companions,

A very good and bright morning to you all. I thank every one of you for being present on this annual convocation of the Regional grand chapter of southern India. After a very late and enjoyable evening, it is really difficult to get up early and get ready and attend a meeting like this. This meeting had been advanced a bit to conclude the meetings early today to suit the departure timings of many companions who are planning to leave in the afternoon. I regret for the inconvenience.

But this certainly indicates the disciplined life style you must be leading, my companions. Unless you are so organized and well planned, you would otherwise be just relaxing in your hotels by this time.

In its most general sense, discipline refers to systematic instruction given to a To discipline thus means to instruct a person to follow a particular code of conduct, or to adhere to a certain "order." Consequently, "in the field of human development, discipline refers to methods of modeling character and of teaching self-control and acceptable behavior

'To disciple' also gives rise to the word disciplinarian, which denotes a person who enforces order. An ideal disciplinarian is one who can enforce order without coercion

Self-discipline refers to the training that one gives himself to accomplish a certain task or to adopt a particular pattern of behaviour, even though one would really rather be doing something else. For example, denying oneself of an extravagant pleasure in order to accomplish a more demanding charitable deed. Thus, self-discipline is the assertion of willpower over more base desires, and is usually understood to be a synonym of 'self control'.
Will power is the ability to control unnecessary and harmful impulses. It is the ability to overcome laziness and procrastination. It is the ability to arrive to a decision and follow it with perseverance until its successful accomplishment. It is the inner power that overcomes the desire to indulge in unnecessary and useless habits, and the inner strength that overcomes inner emotional and mental resistance for taking action. It is one of the corner stones of success, both spiritual and material.
Self-discipline is the companion of will power. It endows the stamina to persevere in whatever one does. It bestows the ability to withstand hardships and difficulties, whether physical, emotional or mental. It grants the ability to reject immediate satisfaction for something better.
The human being is full of inner unconscious. People sometimes say or do things they later regret saying or doing. On many occasions people do not think before they talk or act.
By developing these two powers, one becomes conscious of the inner subconscious impulses, and gains the ability to reject them when they are not for his own good.
As companions under the watchful eye of the true and living god most high, let us all pursue the goal of being  self disciplined and strong willed. It is in this degree that we are exalted to realize  God in its true and holy form. The holy royal arch is not the completion of freemasonry, but the entrance to the path that leads us to the immortal mansions.

Companions, I thank you for the enthusiasm and dedication with which you have attended this convocation this morning. I am sure you will all go back to your chapters enriched with an experience of the fragrance of love and affection that has been exchanged in the last two days.

M.E. The first grand principal, I once again thank you for the honour conferred upon me by installing me as the grand superintendent of the Regional grand chapter of southern India. As I have mentioned yesterday, I assure you that I will endeavour  to do my best to live upto your expectations and sincerely partake in fulfilling the goals set out by you and the supreme grand chapter of india.

THANK YOU.
