    CRAFT MARK

Most Ex. Companion Justice Devinder Gupta , M.Ex. The First Grand Principal of The Supreme grand chapter of India, M.Ex. The Grand Superintendents of the Regional Grand chapters of Western, Northern and Eastern India, M.E. Companions, Ex. Companions, and companions,

A very good and bright morning to you all. I thank every one of you for being present on this half yearly convocation of the Regional grand chapter of southern India. After a very late and enjoyable evening, it is really difficult to get up early and get ready and attend a meeting like this. I once again thank you all for the zeal and enthusiasm with which you have devoted yourself to the order of the Holy Royal Arch Masonry.

The term Holy implies that this degree in Freemasonry a sacred one, where a candidate is just initiated but exalted. The candidate is conducted through the intricate windings of life, finally to see the light of the  true and living god most high.

The term Royal means that the degree was derived from the monarchs or pertains to the royalty. That is why the principals in Chapter carry, unlike in a craft lodge, not a gavel but scepters. The scepter are usually held by the heads of states or institutions such as the emperors, Pope, commanders of defence forces etc.. It is an emblem of authority and staff of office.

Arch is a typical demonstration of Brotherhood in Freemasonry. The various stones in an arch mutually support each other and form a single arch to external appearance. The Brethren in Freemasonry are expected to mutually support each other and form into a one organization and act as such. Together the arch supports heavy loads, protecting the area beneath  it. The arch of freemasonry support the community around it from the burden of the social evils and protect all under the umbrella of Brotherhood.

This my brethren, is the essence of Holy royal arch chapter in a nut shell.
My dear companions before I sit down, I have a pleasant task of recognizing the efforts of some of the companions and the chapters in our Region.

I once again express my gratitude to the ME The First Grand Principal and the visiting ME companions from the other Regional Grand Chapters and the District Grand Chapter of Madras.

Thank you my companions for your participation and support.
